It did replace some. For example the Class 1 Drone's shots sound like those of the PEST.

Look at "Drone Cannon" in DTX 2. The PEST uses the level 3 laser sound.

Anyway, we can't fix this either, as again, D2 doesn't have enough sounds compared to D1 (not counting the new player weapon sounds), and the sounds are weapon specific (and used for multiple weapons).
