Guys, it's done. Thanks to help from one of the forums, I managed to crack DESCENT2.HAM.

The changes are as follows:

-Laser lvl 1 has had its power increased from 9 to 10
-Laser lvl 2 went from 9.75 to 11
-Laser lvl 3 from 10,5 to 12
-Laser lvl 4 from 11,25 to 13

All of the above are the original figures from Descent 1. This required further strengthening of the Super Lasers. Now they're really gona be Super:

-Laser lvl 5 powered up from 12 to 14, speed from 135 to 140
-Laser lvl 6 from 12,5 to 15, speed from 135 to 145

-Fusion got a boost from 30 to 60, restoring it to former glory.

-Spreadfire got a boost from 9 to 10 as it was in D1, more importantly its projectile speed got restored from 130 to 200. This makes Spread far quicker than Helix, but Helix is still much, much better damage-wise with 55 dmg per shot and huge rate of fire, so I don't see it as unbalancing. Moreover, you won't get Helix until after the Solar System levels anyway.

All of these changes have put the D1 weapons at their original D1 stats. The file is safe on my hard drive, I'll upload it if such a need arises. Back to level designing for me, then!

Oh, and from what I know V-Hams only let you modify ROBOT weapons. (In fact I'm not even sure it was a V-Ham that enabled that mod in Entropy 2, as I've only played it in XL).

V-hams perhaps, but not entire replacement Descent2.HAM files :3
