This is the installation help for D3Edit.
SDK is the visual scripting tool for Descent 3 missions. The generated scripts are compiled with GCC. When you tick "Scripting tools for Descent 3 (SDK and compiler), the D3Edit installer creates two folders inside the editor folder: editor/SDK and editor/GCC, and fills them with all the tools needed to create and compile scripts for your missions. When you tick "Extract sound files from Descent 3 to use them in the editor", the D3Edit installer creates a folder inside the editor folder: editor/sounds, and fills it with the Descent 3 sounds (WAV files) it extracts from the D3 hog file. You will then be able to hear the sounds you would like to play in rooms and you choose via the D3Edit Room Properties Dialog, or on events via your scripts.
"Create exception entry for the Windows firewall" is required for the "Check for update" D3Edit feature.
