Co-op (co-operative) is an online game type of Descent 3 where several players complete (or fail) one or more missions together, fight against the "bad robots", and solve riddles as a team.

Most single-player missions can be played in co-op too, but unfortunately some level designers made their levels so that they won't work in co-op intentionally, and other missions can't be played in co-op mode due to bugs in the level editor,  Descent 3 itself, and bugs in the level scripts. Other blockers are the level designers who forgot to put the "coop" keyworkd in the mission file, but that's a different issue and can be circumvented in most cases.

I like to play co-op games because I like to play single-player missions, and I believe it's more fun to have several people in the same game.

A co-op game can be joined just like any other online game.
