Download the full version of Descent 3 - Instructions step 2

If you have a legal copy or license of Descent 3 already, you can jump over this step. Go directly to step 3 of the instructions (requires registration).

If you don't have a copy or licence of Descent 3 and Descent 3 Mercenary yet, it is now time to obtain one.

Here's an incomplete list of sources from where you can obtain Descent 3 licenses:

• From Good Old Games. They offer a downloadable version of Descent 3 + Mercenary (Descent 3 + Expansion) for quite a decent price. You don't need to download and install the file. Better don't download and install it. Pay for the software and leave it on GOG's server. If you go for Good Old Games' version of Descent 3, and if you installed that version on your computer already, bear in mind that you may have to uninstall it again before you install the Descent 3 version from Dateiliste. You can safely install our Descent 3 into another directory on your computer, then copy all your pilot files, logos, taunts, etc over to the new folder. When we checked last time, GOG offered Descent 3 + Mercenary (Descent 3 + Expansion) for $ 5.99. Considering that no shipping costs are required (because it's a download), this seems quite competitive.

• If you look on Amazon and eBay, you may find some good bargains. Just remember that you shouldn't pay more than around 10 Euros for Descent 3 plus Descent 3 Mercenary or Descent 3 + Expansion. Some shops still charge up to USD 30 or even more for the game. If you go for a boxed Descent 3, there's usually shipping costs involved, in particular when you order from the other side of the world. However, boxes are nice collector's items, and many people like to have something to look at and to carry around.
